On a campus where the majority political party is ‘Apathetic,’ it’s often difficult to convince people why they should care. In a world where I have literally heard people say, “I live here..” in a conversation about the genocide in Rwanda, students should know that their voice can be heard, and their actions resonate to those worlds away.

I started this blog to tell you (yes, you!) that you can make a difference.  The first step is discovering your passion.  Web sites like dosomething.com make it easy to research and choose a cause.  The interests range from local to secular, from animals to the environment.  From there, the Web site provides different ways to help the cause.

Even changing your attitude can change the world. At wearewhatwedo.org, there are tips on how the smallest actions have save water, conserve energy, or improve your overall lifestyle. For instance, takings the stairs on turning off unnecessary electric appliances.

So before you tell yourself you can’t do anything, remember that simple actions go a long way!
